The TWU Community expresses its condolences to the family and friends of Sabrina Pickens, PhD, who passed away on Feb. 17, 2024. Pickens was an assistant professor in the TWU College of Nursing beginning in Sept. 2021.

Pickens recently won a Gold Award at the 2023 Excellence in Nursing Awards by the Good Samaritan Foundation.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Lakewood Church (3700 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77027). Those attending the service are asked to wear purple in honor of Sabrina’s favorite color.
