Use a Custom Rule in RingCentral to manage your availability during holidays and vacations. Rather than change your business hours, you can create custom rules for the holidays, vacation, and other planned (or unplanned) events:
- Navigate to service.ringcentral.com
- Select Single Sign-on, enter TWU email and password
- Select Settings
- Select Call Handling
- Select Custom Rules at the top
- Click +Add Rule
- Select Date and/or Time
- Select Specific Date Range
- Choose the start and end dates and times using the calendar and arrows
- Click Next
- Select action to take when incoming calls match this rule, which will likely either be Send to voicemail or Play an Announcement (Play a pre-recorded announcement and end the call afterward)
- Either way, choose the greeting that will play
- Click Save
- Click Next
- Give the rule a name (e.g. Holiday, Vacation, Inclement Weather)
- Click Save
- Verify that the rule is Active
