Dr. Rama Yelkur has been awarded the honorary title of executive dean of the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship. The recognition honor’s Yelkur’s exceptional leadership, success in advancing fundraising efforts, enhancements to student retention and the establishment of a strong sense of community within her college.

The honorary designation is typically awarded to only one sitting dean at a time. It is intended to acknowledge distinguished leadership that supports the broader goals of Academic Affairs. Yelkur will continue to lead the college while also taking on a supportive advisory role.

In her expanded role, Yelkur will:

• Provide strategic insights that strengthen academic planning, cross-college collaboration, and long-term initiatives within Academic Affairs.
• Serve as a resource to fellow deans, sharing promising practices in areas such as student success, fundraising and operational excellence.
• Represent Academic Affairs in select university-wide and external initiatives, particularly those related to innovation, workforce development and public-private partnerships.
