Zerangue awarded grant to promote digital inclusion

Amanda Zerangue (library) has been awarded a $49,980 Texas State Library and Archives Commission and the Institute of Museum and Library Services to promote digital inclusion at TWU and address the lack of remote access to computers and internet highlighted by COVID-19. The grant amount is the maximum awarded.

The library will use the grant to purchase approximately 30 laptops and six hot spots that will be available for long-term lending to students on all three campuses.

“When applying for this grant, we didn’t realize the level of reliance that TWU would have on technology,” Zerangue said. “But now, more than ever, our students need access to laptops and the internet to complete classes, research and coursework from anywhere they can safely work.”
