The objective of the Talent initiative is to create a comprehensive university strategy to attract, acquire, develop, and retain diverse talent necessary for long-term university success. Foundational to this initiative is to create a welcoming environment for new employees by enhancing our methods and processes to attract prospective talent to the university as well as creating a vibrant onboarding process that reflects TWU’s welcoming spirit.
Principles of the talent initiative that are being strengthened will enrich, celebrate and acknowledge faculty and staff contributions, remove barriers and expand well-being efforts, and reinforce the university’s long-standing retention success. Examples of the committee’s accomplishments and continuing development efforts include:
- A web page showcasing why prospective employees would be attracted to the university as an employer of choice. The “Why Work at Texas Woman’s University” web page includes an online clip about TWU as well as information about the university, benefits, careers, campus maps, pioneer perks, and the Denton, Dallas and Houston areas
- Student, faculty and staff awards, recognitions and accomplishments highlighted and communicated to the university community through a dedicated website
- A formal onboarding program that simplifies the employee’s initial experience and transition to TWU’s culture and welcoming environment
The Talent initiative will be an ongoing and continuously improving effort to examine our processes, practices and incorporate feedback based on our learning of student, faculty and staff experiences to invest, attract and retain exceptional TWU talent.
