It took a combination of diligence, research and painstaking number crunching, but when it was all said and done Human Resources employee Brenda Villarreal achieved impressive results. She recently wrapped up an accounting project that succeeded in a large credit to the university from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
According to Nature Miller, who is manager of accounting and reporting for the Office of Human Resources, Villarreal, working on a manual adjustment project that was relatively new to her – and on a cloud-based system relatively new to the university – was engaged in a tedious, time-consuming project required to receive such credit and all while assuming her other assignment responsibilities.
“Moreover, Villarreal took the initiative, researched the project, and was self-driven to succeed,” said Chief Human Resources and People Officer Tony Sanchez. “I am very proud of her and this is the kind of problem solving I’ve encouraged from the get-go.”
“We want her to know that her dedication to her job is truly appreciated, and we want to thank her for always making her quality of work such a high priority,” Miller said.
