Volunteers needed for Denton commencement

Graduation is the most exciting point in our students’ educational journeys, and you can help make it special by volunteering at one or more of Denton’s six commencement ceremonies!

Denton ceremonies are scheduled Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13 in the Kitty Magee Arena of Pioneer Hall. Volunteers are needed for the following positions:

  • Greeter
  • Ticket Scanner
  • Pioneer Hall/Kitty Magee Arena Crowd Monitor
  • Program Attendant

Read more about what each position involves. No experience is necessary – training materials will be provided, and a volunteer orientation luncheon will take place noon to 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 28, in Blagg-Huey Library room 101. Commencement rehearsal will take place at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 11, in the Kitty Magee Arena of Pioneer Hall.

Volunteers will receive an event T-shirt, snacks, and a certificate of recognition. There also will be a volunteer social after commencement.

A complimentary breakfast for volunteers will be available beginning at 7:15 a.m. on Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13. Those who serve at the first ceremony on either day will also be provided a complimentary lunch. A volunteer team meeting will take place each day 15 minutes before doors open for each ceremony. Pioneer Hall doors open for grads and guests starting at 8 a.m. each day.

Sign up to volunteer by Tuesday, April 25. Contact Jessica Walling at jwalling1@twu.edu or 940-898-3201 if you have questions.
