On April 24, 2024, Texas Woman’s University proudly hosted the Texas Health Informatics Alliance (THIA) Workshop at the Dallas campus, welcoming a dynamic group of health informatics professionals, researchers, educators, and students from across the state and beyond.
During the opening remarks, Mikyoung Lee, PhD, Doswell Endowed Chair for Informatics and Healthcare Transformation, emphasized the critical importance of collaboration in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
"At a time when healthcare systems are facing complex challenges, the importance of working together cannot be overstated," Lee shared. "This workshop presents a valuable opportunity to connect, share insights, and generate ideas that will shape the future of health informatics in Texas and beyond."
The day featured engaging interactive sessions designed to foster learning, spark innovation, and strengthen networks essential to driving meaningful change. Attendees participated actively in discussions, shared research findings, and explored new strategies to address the opportunities and challenges in health informatics today.
The THIA Workshop seamlessly led into the Doswell Health Informatics Conference the following day, allowing participants to extend conversations and collaborations.
