A new organization on campus, Young Professionals in Higher Education (YPiHE), has been founded and is in its early stages.
YPiHE is an employee affinity group at Texas Woman’s University that is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and professional growth among faculty and staff members who identify as "Gen Z," "Millennial," or "young at heart."
Its mission is to provide networking opportunities, social events, and professional development resources across the Denton, Dallas, and Houston campuses. YPiHE encourages all faculty and staff members at TWU who identify with that demographic focus to join in building a supportive network and accessing opportunities for development.
TWU young professionals looking to connect with peers, access professional development opportunities, and contribute to a vibrant community, are invited to join in shaping the future of the group.
Activities include regularly scheduled meetings and social events throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters, as well as participation in campus initiatives and programs. Interested employees are encouraged to contact YPiHE's Vice President, Jennie Heath (jheath7@twu.edu) for more information or to request membership.
YPiHE aims to offer additional leadership opportunities for its members. Current leadership is:
- President, Rebecca Vazquez, JNIWL
- Vice President, Jennie Heath, Center for Student Involvement
- Secretary, Austin Hammond, HR
- Events Coordinator, Kayla Bunch, Admissions
