Mini-grants available for OER course redesign

TWU Libraries has made available mini-grants in the amount of $1,000 (less withholding) to support instructors who want to redesign their courses to include Open Educational Resources (OER).

OER allows students to access textbooks and another learning resources electronically, at no cost, and on the first day of class. This makes courses at Texas Woman’s University more affordable and accessible for our students and allows faculty to create an equitable learning experience with open and affordable materials.

The mini-grants primarily are intended to support instructors transitioning their courses to no-cost for students. In addition, support from a librarian, a Teaching and Learning with Technology instructional designer, and the Center for Faculty Excellence also will be available for awardees and any instructors interested in adopting or creating OER.

Additional information on the mini-grants, including how to apply, is available on the TWU Libraries website. Applications are due by May 7.
