Leading climate scientists to give a presentation at TWU

TWU will welcome climate scientists Twila Moon and Heidi Sevestre for an insightful presentation from 11 a.m.-12:20 p.m. on April 16, hosted by TWU’s Center for Women in Government.

The event will explore the latest research in climate science, offering local educators, business leaders and community members a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge scientists and discuss the vital role of women in STEM.

A globally recognized expert in Earth science, Moon specializes in the interconnected systems of ice, climate, ocean, and ecosystems. As Deputy Lead Scientist and Science Communication Liaison at the National Snow and Ice Data Center–part of the University of Colorado Boulder’s Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES)–she is dedicated to bringing actionable climate science insights to policymakers and business leaders.

Sevestre, an internationally renowned glaciologist and climate advocate known for her extensive outreach through media, books, and documentaries, frequently leads scientific expeditions to polar and high-mountain regions, contributing to climate-focused productions for National Geographic, BBC, ZDF, ITV, and Frances T
élévisions, making complex climate science accessible and compelling for global audiences.

The event will take place at TWU's Ann Stuart Science Complex, Room 259.
