  • Judith McFarlane (nursing) presented at the International Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine Annual Meeting March 12-15 in Seattle on the outcome data from the randomized clinical trial in Karachi, Pakistan, for which she is Co-PI. The trial is funded by UKAid and is following 1,752 sixth-grade youth who have been randomly selected to receive 120 sessions over the next two years on resolving conflict without violence or the standard curriculum (without conflict resolution). This is the first-ever research effort to decrease peer violence among youth in Pakistan.
  • Wyona Freysteinson (nursing) has been invited by Public Health Post, Boston University School of Public Health's online forum on public health policy, to adapt her article, "A Study of the Amputee Experience of Viewing Self in the Mirror" for their publication. The article is set to be published May 23.
  • Anita Hufft (nursing) will be a panelist at the next TMC Health Policy Institute conversation set for 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 at Third Coast restaurant in the Texas Medical Center. The topic of discussion is U.S. Health Care: Where Do We Go Next? and will include other panelists from across the TMC. RSVP is required.
