  • Need an official university headshot? Here’s your last chance for the semester! A photo session is scheduled 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, on ACT2. No registration is required. If you had a headshot taken earlier in the semester, those photos are now available in the university’s photo archive public folder. Information on how to download photos is available if needed.
  • The Intercultural Institute of Research presents “The Sistine Chapel: Michelangelo’s Glorious Frescoes,” 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the Joyce Thompson Lecture Hall (Library 101). The event, which is free and open to the public, is a lecture in the Classical Art series initiated by John Calabrese, TWU Professor Emeritus of Art History. Refreshments will be served.
  • Get ready for a hauntingly good time as the TWU Wind Symphony presents Frankenstein, 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the Margo Jones Performance Hall. The event is a screening of the 1931 cult-classic film featuring Michael Shapiro’s original wind band score performed live by the TWU Wind Symphony. Concessions will be available, and costume contests will be held for all ages. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for students/seniors. Children younger than 12 will be admitted free.
  • Reminder: Pioneer Research at the Mall takes place 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, in the Golden Triangle Mall Food Court. TWU faculty and students will present their current research projects to the public.
  • Friday, Nov. 1, is the last day of early voting. If you’re registered to vote in Denton County, why not take advantage of the early voting site at TWU?
  • The TWU Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy will host a meet and greet and information session for faculty, staff and students to learn about opportunities and partnerships available through the Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) 4-5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, in Library Room 101. PLEN offers seminars that develop students’ passions for law, STEM, health, foreign relations, business leadership and public service into skills and networks for their professional careers.
