  • Reminder: Risk Management will conduct a series of fire drills within the next two weeks to assess TWU Denton's emergency readiness and prractice the building evacuation procedure. The TWU Emergency Guidebook provides a step-by-step guide on how to respond to fires and other emergency situations.
  • Last call for candy! Donations are still being accepted for Boo at the U. Drop off your donations at Student Union 209 or the Alumni House through Thursday, Oct. 18. You also may call x3641 to have your donation collected.
  • For the safety of all concerned, the pick-up and drop-off location for the North Remote Parking Lot shuttle will change for the “Boo at the U” event. The site will change from its current location at ACT to the U-shaped parking lot next to West Jones Hall for the entire day Thursday, Oct. 18. The first parking space within that lot will be coned off to allow riders to load and disembark safely from the vans. The pick-up and drop-off location for the Denton Bible Church shuttle (south of DGL) will remain unchanged. Questions? Call x3166. Update on the event: “Boo at the U” will be relocated to the TWU Student Union building. The Pup Parade has been canceled; only service animals may enter the building. Train rides, carriage rides and inflatables also have been canceled due to the weather; however, all other activities, including "Trunk or Treating," will continue.
  • Rain or shine, the Graduate Students Open Studios will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 in the Patio Building. This free event gives the community the opportunity to explore the studios, view projects in progress and meet the artists. Refreshments will be provided.
  • Bad weather last week affected the SECC 5K Fun Run/Walk, which was postponed to Saturday, Oct. 20. The event begins at 9 a.m. in front of the TWU Fitness and Recreation Center. There’s still time to register online!
  • Raechelle Clemmons (technology) was named to the board of directors of EDUCAUSE, a higher education technology association.
  • Sarah McMahan (teacher education) was selected by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to serve on the history teaching track subcommittee of the History Field of Study Advisory Committee.
