TWU Night at Water Works Park
(2400 Long Rd. Denton, TX 76207) Thursday, July 18. Faculty, staff and students are invited to bring their friends and family (no limit) to the park from 7:30-10:30 p.m. for this free, private event. Be sure to bring your TWU ID for entry; no preregistration required. Re-admission is available with provided wristband. This event is sponsored by the Student Union, Fitness and Recreation, and Housing & Dining.

, Ph.D., who passed away July 5, 2019. Johnson retired in May 2019 after more than 40 years as professor of organic chemistry at TWU.

The TWU soccer team will host the 13th annual
Pioneer Power Sprint Triathlon & 5K
Sunday, July 21 on the Denton campus.
Registration

Congratulations to
Shazia Ahmed
(biology), who has been named a BioTAP Scholar for the 2019-2020 academic year. The
Biology Teaching Assistant Project
, a National Science Foundation-funded Research Coordination Network, is a competitive yearlong initiative to develop, implement and report on a biology Graduate Teaching Assistant Teaching Professional Development (GTA TPD). Each BioTAP Scholar works on individual research projects that benefit his or her home institution, but also collaborates with other scholars with similar research interests to build cross-institutional relationships.
Joel Muro
(family sciences) served as a lead presenter at the
American Mental Health Counselors Association
held June 26-28 in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Herndon, Virginia. His presentation was titled “Preparation and Intervention: Helping Adults to Support Children and Adolescents Struggling with Grief or Personal Trauma.”
