  • Congratulations to Ann Medley (physical therapy) who received the Joan M. Mills award from the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy (AGPT) during the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) conference last week in Washington D.C. The award recognizes a member who has generously contributed his/her time, talents and efforts to the development of the Academy.  It is the highest award given for service within AGPT.
  • Four nursing faculty members have been named to the 2019 DFW Great 100 Nurses including Dallas faculty Susan Chrostowski, Sharon Denham and Allisson Huffman along with Denton adjunct faculty member Eugenia Welch. These faculty members were selected from over 750 nominations for their outstanding contributions to their communities.
  • Under the leadership and guidance of Mari Tietze (nursing), several TWU Health Informatics students attended the DFW Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) roundtable event held Jan. 26 in Dallas. Two of those students were selected to receive scholarships from HIMSS including undergraduate student Maheder Madu Mitiku and graduate student Iruna Kharel.
  • Marsha Neville (occupational therapy) has published “The Feasibility of Conducting Task-Oriented Training at Home for Patients with Stroke” in Open Journal of Occupational Therapy.
  • The Faculty Ombudsperson, Linda Rubin, will be visiting the Dallas campus on Monday, Feb. 4. The Provost's office on the 2nd floor will serve as her office. Please feel free to drop by the office or contact her for an appointment at LRubin@twu.edu or 81-2605.
  • The Dallas Book Club, led by Kimberly Richardson (Libraries), is currently reading “Becoming" by Michelle Obama and will meet next at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8 in room 6400. Bring your own lunch. Drinks and snacks are provided.
