  • Shelley Hawkins, incoming associate dean of nursing for the Dallas campus, will visit the Dallas and Denton campuses May 15-17.
  • The Dallas Staff Council honored the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and Disability Services for Students staff for the month of May. Victoria Campbell (ORSP) and Ryan Krone (Center for Research Design and Analysis) were recognized for their work with students and faculty seeking research funding and development. Sharla Taylor (DSS) was recognized for working with faculty to assist students with accommodations on the Dallas campus.
  • Chin-Nu Lin (nursing) collaborated with The Stewpot, an organization serving the homeless, for a service-learning component of her mental health competency course. Under her supervision, two groups of students presented “Hand Hygiene” and “Basic First Aid and Wound Care” to clients of The Stewpot on April 17 and 24, respectively. The projects gave the students opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to the real world when working with the homeless.
