Hawkins named associate dean in Dallas

Shelley Hawkins, PhD/DSN, has been appointed associate dean of nursing for TWU’s Dallas campus, effective June 1. She most recently served as executive associate dean at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.

Hawkins previously served as DNP program director at the University of San Diego, FNP program director at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, primary care nurse practitioner director at the University of Virginia, and director of the Accelerated BSN program at Auburn University. She received her BSN with honors, her MSN and her PhD/DSB from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also earned a geriatric nurse practitioner post master’s certificate from The University of Texas Medical Branch, and completed a post doc at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
