October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. To encourage all faculty, staff and students to improve their online security hygiene, TWU Technology participates in the Own IT. Protect IT. Secure IT.™ global awareness campaign to help all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online.
Faculty, staff and students can earn points for participating in Own IT. Protect IT. Secure IT.™ events and activities throughout October. Highest points grand prize is an Amazon Firestick. Faculty/staff who earn 50 points will win an ITS swag pack; students with 50 points win a TWU Technology T-shirt.
How to earn points
- Take selfies with cybersecurity posters or digital signage & tag @TWUTech on Twitter or share to TWUTech page on Facebook= 2 points
- Take the Google phishing quiz. Post your results to Twitter and tag @TWUTech or Share to the TWUTech page on Facebook = 5 points
- Follow @TWUTech on Facebook or Twitter = 1 point
- Retweet or share a @TWUTech post on Facebook or Twitter = 2 points
- Sign up for GMail 2-step Verification = 15 points
- Stop by a Technology Info Table on campus (sign in or selfie) = 2 points
- Attend the Cybersecurity Trivia Game at noon Monday, Oct. 21, in Denton ACT 301, Dallas 3514, or Houston 3310 = 12 points
- Complete any LinkedIn Learning “Cybersecurity Awareness:” course (list of courses) = 10 points
Prize drawings will occur Friday, Nov. 1. Winners will be notified via TWU email.
