IT Solutions recaps Cybersecurity Awareness Month

IT Solutions extends a big thank you to all Pioneers who participated and spread the word by joining in this year’s month-long Cybersecurity Awareness Month celebration.

Below are some of the highlights of this year's activities:

  • Information Security hosted TWU’s “What Does Cybersecurity Mean to You in Six Words or Less” campaign. The responses from students, faculty, and staff were insightful and unique. See what your colleagues and peers shared by checking out the Cybersecurity in Six Words Wall.
  • A total of 380 pounds of electronic waste were responsibly recycled from TWU departments and academic components during the TWU Asset E-Waste Event. Office equipment such as fax machines, printers, and cables were recycled keeping them out of landfills and protecting our planet.
  • IT Solutions joined in the fun at the Spook-tacular Safety Fair, bringing cybersecurity tips and tricks to the table. It was a fantastic chance to connect with the TWU community and spread awareness about the importance of cybersecurity while enjoying the Halloween spirit.
  • The annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month Trivia game was a hit! Kudos to everyone who aced it, especially the lucky prize winners.

As this year’s festivities come to a conclusion, IT Solutions encourages everyone to keep the cybersecurity spirit alive. What you do online has the potential to affect everyone – at home, at work, and around the world. Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility, so make good habits part of your everyday routine.
