What’s Staff Council? What’s its role? 

The Staff Council provides a collective voice for university staff as a channel of communication within the university to foster a spirit of unified community and to advance the mission of the university.

The Staff Council also is organized to provide opportunities for the democratic representation of staff members. The goal of the Staff Council is to promote a positive and collaborative work environment. Our purposes are to serve as a representative advisory council; provide a vehicle for communication of staff interests, concerns and issues; present recommendations to university leadership; and promote positive morale among TWU staff.

In addition, the Staff Council may consider other issues and provide recommendations to the administration on matters of interest to the staff in accordance with Article II. The Staff Council does not serve as a complaint hearing or review agency in any grievance procedure or matter. The Staff Council does not assume the role of arbitrator in any such matter, nor does it serve as a bargaining entity.

There are multiple ways to find out how Staff Council is working for you and TWU:

• The Contact Us form can be used to send the council general questions or concerns
• Staff Council members can be contacted directly anytime with questions or concerns
• Periodic staff emails will be sent by Staff Council to keep you informed of upcoming events, socials and issues

Staff Council holds general meetings once a month on the second Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. The TWU community is welcome to attend. Meetings are held via Zoom for this semester. Please use the link sent to your TWU email for access information.
