Volunteers needed for PCOS study

The department of Nutrition and Food Sciences is conducting a study to test the effect of food supplementation on hormones in women with or without Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). This study is open to TWU and non-TWU individuals. Study site: TWU Denton campus.

Who:

  • Women with and without Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)  or if you have excess body hair growth and irregular menses
  • Age 18- 45 yr
  • Minimally exercising (i.e., < 30 min/day, < 3 days /week)
  • No other known metabolic disorders or protein allergies
  • Not pregnant or not lactating

Intervention:

  • Supplementation for up to 60 days
  • Blood draws required for analyses

Benefits:

  • Free bone scan & body composition analysis
  • Up to $60 compensation on completion of study
