University Academic Advising presented its annual academic advising awards program on Aug. 22.
The following academic advisors received awards this year:
- Advising With a Heart - Molly Koerner, Academic Advisor II, College of Business
- Advising With a Heart is presented to a staff or faculty advisor who exemplifies what it means to advise with a heart. Advisors in this category must be nominated by a current TWU student.
- Outstanding Advising Program – College of Business, Owl’s Nest Peer Mentoring Program, Co-Coordinators Molly Koerner, Academic Advisor II, and Ryann Munthe, Academic Advisor II
- The Outstanding Advising Program award recognizes one college-specific or cross-departmental program in which TWU students are the primary audience and the goal is to promote student retention, success, or completion.
- New Advisor of the Year – Molly Ramõn, Academic Advisor II, College of Health Sciences
- New Advisor of the Year is awarded to an academic advisor who has been advising at TWU for less than three years.
- Advisor of the Year – Dennise Mendez, Program Director – School of Health Promotion & Kinesiology, College of Health Sciences
- Advisor of the Year is awarded to an academic advisor who has been advising at TWU for three more years.
The following staff and faculty advisors were also recognized for their advising achievements. Each advisor was nominated by a TWU student for the Advising With a Heart award. All nominees were recognized and presented with a lapel pin that said “Excellence in Advising.”:
