March is Women’s History Month, and Texas Woman’s University takes special pride in leveraging our history and commitment to empowering and educating women.
TWU is home to the official archive of the Women Airforce Service Pilots, or WASP, a civilian women pilots’ organization whose members flew U.S. military aircraft, even towing aerial targets. The university also houses the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame, which honors the state’s most accomplished women.
TWU has its own outstanding, inspiring women, from an early researcher who studied the effects of space flight on the human body, to a graduate student who is pioneering pain research for women. Today, our faculty, staff, students and alumni continue to make contributions to science and the arts, and we’re highlighting some of them in a special Women’s History Month feature on the TWU website. We invite you to read the stories of these remarkable women, both past and present, and check out the various events being hosted by the university this month.
