TWU commencement ceremonies go on location

UPDATE: Due to inclement weather forecasted for Friday morning, the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony has been moved to Saturday at 2 p.m. We realize this may be inconvenient for some, but we need to ensure the safety of our graduates and our volunteers. Please see the updated schedule on the Registrar’s website. The event will be livestreamed. However, the livestream could be paused in the event of rain or lightning.

We’re just days away from Texas Woman’s University’s in-person drive-thru graduation events in recognition of May, August and December graduates. The events will be livestreamed.

More than 1,700 graduates will participate in ceremonies scheduled at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) in Fort Worth and Heavy Construction Systems Specialists (HCSS) in Sugar Land.

The TMS ceremony, which includes graduates from the Denton and Dallas campuses, will take place Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11-12. Students in regalia will exit their vehicles at the finish line to receive their diplomas and pose for a professional photograph. The events will be livestreamed and broadcast on the TMS Big Hoss TV, the world’s largest outdoor HD screen. Read more about the ceremony at TMS.

The TWU Houston graduation at HCSS will take place Sunday, Dec. 13. Company owner Mike Rydin, a longtime TWU supporter, offered the use of his business property for this event in honor of his late wife, TWU alumna and occupational therapy faculty member Sophie Rydin, PhD.
