Texas Woman's hosts double celebration

Texas Woman’s University hosted a double celebration on Nov. 4 with the official opening of the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership and the induction of new members into the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame.

The governor’s office issued its own press release about the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which included remarks from Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott. The Texas Governor’s Commission for Women established the hall of fame in 1984. The permanent exhibit is housed on TWU’s Denton campus.

The events garnered attention from multiple media outlets, including the Denton Record-Chronicle, which ran a series of photos from both events.

The Texas Tribune’s daily “The Blast” digital newsletter featured an item about the institute’s grand opening. Additional coverage came from outlets including Que Onda Magazine and STL News.
