In addition to closing schools and businesses, COVID-19 now has canceled the 2020 State Fair of Texas. It will be the first time the fair has not taken place since World War II.
Texas Woman’s faculty, staff and students have been in the fight since the beginning — collecting medical equipment to fight the pandemic, awarding grants to women-owned businesses hurt by COVID-19, providing advice on practicing self-care while social distancing, making a video explaining how COVID-19 is spread for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and much more.
Still, the number of cases spiked statewide, leading the governor to issue an executive order requiring all Texans to wear a face covering when in public.
TWU faculty, staff and students know that when we do return to campus, we’ll need to wear face coverings. The Pioneers Protecting Pioneers campaign spells out the reason — “We wear because we care.”
A new web page, Face Covering Use at TWU, explains expectations, offers instructions for making your own mask and how to care for it, and much more.
