SECC serves up chili, desserts and more

Got lunch plans? The TWU State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) is serving up a selection of chilis and desserts during the Chili Cook-Off and the Dessert Bake-Off & Auction. You could even leave with a fun or functional basket at the Basket Building Challenge Auction.

Events take place 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26, in the Kitty Magee Arena in Pioneer Hall. Admission is $3 if you want chili or dessert only, or $5 for chili and pie. Payment by cash or check is accepted, or you can pay online.

Don’t forget the Bettye Myers Challenge. Based on the percentage of participation within components, academic and non-academic departments can be eligible for a drawing to win prizes: Academic components will be eligible to win a $1,000 student scholarship sponsored by the TWU Foundation, and non-academic components will be eligible for a drawing for a group pizza party sponsored by the Chancellor’s Office and Chartwells.

The deadline to get your donation in for the Bettye Myers Challenge is Monday, Oct. 31.

If you haven’t been able to attend events, there’s still time to donate to TWU’s campaign. Visit twu.edu/secc to learn more about the campaign and how to give.
