The Texas Woman’s University SECC (State Employee Charitable Campaign) rolls on, with the TriBALLathon scheduled 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20. If you’d like to try your hand at Dodgeball, Pickleball, and “Oakleyball,” there’s still time to sign up – the registration deadline is 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19.
If you want to cheer on your colleagues – or just want to find out what “Oakleyball” is – admission to the event is $2 at the door. Cash, check, or credit card will be accepted.
Mark your calendars for the Chili Cook-Off, Dessert Bake-Off, and Basket Building Challenge Auction. The event takes place 11:30-a.m.-1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26, in the Kitty Magee Arena of Pioneer Hall. Admission is $3 if you just want chili or a dessert, or $5 if you want both chili and pie. Cash or check are accepted as payment, or you can pay online.
Can you cook up a mean pot of chili? You can still register for the Chili Cook-Off – the deadline is Monday, Oct. 24. If your culinary skills lean toward the sweet side, sign up for the Dessert Bake-Off by Monday, Oct. 24.
If you’re entering the Basket Building Challenge Auction, remember that baskets must be delivered by Monday, Oct. 24.
Don’t forget the Bettye Myers Challenge. Begun by a longtime faculty member as a way to encourage participation in SECC, the event continues in her memory. Academic components will be eligible for a drawing to win a $1,000 student scholarship sponsored by the TWU Foundation, and non-academic components will be eligible for a group pizza party sponsored by the Chancellor’s Office and Chartwells. The deadline to get your donation in is Monday, Oct. 31.
