The message is out, and while it’s primarily aimed at students, faculty and staff — everyone, really — would do well to abide by the Pioneer Pact.
The Pioneer Pact states that everyone will do their part to protect themselves as well as others to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As the Labor Day weekend approaches with the possibility of large gatherings, it’s a good time to remind the TWU Community that no matter where they are, each person has a responsibility to follow safety measures and act responsibly.
The Pioneer Pact elicits a promise from students to protect themselves (washing hands, staying home when sick) and others (wearing a face covering, maintaining social distances). The Office of Student Life has put out the message on social media, through the student newsletter, and through digital kiosks around campus. In mid-September, they’ll begin a positive reinforcement campaign, offering coupons to students caught following the Pioneer Pact. Emergency Management will hire eight “Public Health Ambassadors,” students who will gently remind their peers of preventative measures and safe practices at TWU.
Whether on or off campus, all members of the TWU Community are encouraged to follow the Pioneer Pact.
