The beginning of July also is the beginning of the Self Appraisal and Performance Evaluation process at Texas Woman’s this year.
All regular full- and part-time employees hired prior to May 1, 2020, are required to participate in the performance evaluation process. The performance review period runs June 1, 2019-May 31, 2020.
The performance evaluation process typically begins at the end of May; however, in an effort to provide employees and supervisors a manageable timeline during the COVID-19 pandemic period, Human Resources delayed the process start date, provided for flexible targeted completion dates, and expanded the completion period.
Employees’ self-appraisals are due by July 14. See the Staff Performance Evaluation Timeline for more information.
Human Resources also has provided online training to help employees and supervisors with the performance evaluation process.
Due to a decrease in state appropriations, projected enrollment and committed cost increases, merit raises will be suspended this year along with a number of other necessary budgetary savings measures. While there will be no merit-based compensation this year, participation in the performance evaluation process is mandatory.
Besides, it’s an employee’s best opportunity to document and remind their supervisor of the employee’s accomplishments over the review period.
Self-appraisals and performance evaluations should be completed with the entire review period in mind. Employees should include their transition and work performance successes during the pandemic period, as well as other performance efforts throughout the year, on the self-appraisal.
