Construction has changed the way we’ll do commencement parking on the Denton campus for Fall 2018.
Our ceremonies are about our graduates and their families, so we want to extend a warm welcome and make their visit to campus as easy as possible.
Bell Avenue will be closed from Administration Drive to Chapel Drive both Friday and Saturday to allow graduates and their guests to cross Bell safely. You should plan an alternate route if you usually come to campus via Bell Avenue.
The commencement parking map shows the university’s plan for parking during commencement. Lots designated for commencement are shown in gold, with faculty/staff parking in purple. Faculty and staff may park on levels 2 and 3 of the new parking garage on Friday and Saturday — no special permit needed.
Shuttle service to and from TWU's remote parking lot and the Denton Bible Church parking lot will not be available during commencement.
The visitors’ lot at Administration Drive and Bell Avenue will be designated as parking for those with disabilities. The closure of Bell will allow for safe crossing, and Facilities Management and Construction has made the south entrance of Pioneer Hall accessible with a new ramp and electronic door openers.
As always, Department of Public Safety personnel will be on hand to assist with traffic both vehicular and pedestrian.
