Help make holidays bright for students' children

The Texas Woman’s University community is known for supporting our students inside and outside of the classroom. Faculty, staff and campus organizations have an opportunity to provide assistance for a special group of students who juggle the roles of parent, student and family “breadwinner.”

The TWU Holiday Gift Program for students with young families was established more than 25 years ago to assist TWU student parents with financial needs by providing gifts for their children during the holiday season. Last year, more than 225 TWU student parents and their families (almost 400 children) were served through the program.

Consider sponsorship as a Family Sponsor, either individually or as a department. Your support will help make the holidays merry for TWU students and their children. If you volunteer to be a TWU family sponsor, you will be notified of your sponsored family Nov. 15.

Options for sponsorship:

Unwrapped gifts should be delivered the week of Nov. 21 – Dec. 2:

  • On-campus families, deliver your gifts to the Lowry Woods Community Center
  • Off campus families, deliver your gifts to CARE Office, Brackenridge Hall, 209
  • Dallas campus sponsors will be contacted directly regarding Dallas locations

In addition to unwrapped gifts, consider donating a roll of wrapping paper, or some gift bags with tissue paper to provide additional support in this area.
