The challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic have brought about “a new normal” for Texas Woman’s faculty, staff and students. Courses have moved online, and many students have moved back home to complete the semester in a virtual rather than face-to-face format. Access to the Denton, Dallas and Houston campuses has been restricted, and campus events have been postponed or canceled.
Closures occurring on TWU campuses and in the community are causing significant financial burdens for the university’s most at-risk students. To help alleviate that burden, Chancellor Carine M. Feyten has allocated $100,000 from the Chancellor’s Fund comprised of unrestricted donations to the TWU Foundation to provide immediate relief to students who have the greatest needs.
The Student Emergency Fund also has been expanded to provided additional financial support to Texas Woman’s students. You’re invited to make a gift online to help students deal with unexpected financial burdens they are facing in these trying times.
