Faculty and staff are invited to kick off the 2023-2024 academic year during Welcome Week, scheduled Aug. 21-25 at Texas Woman’s.

Events begin Monday, Aug. 21, with Fall Assembly beginning at 10 a.m. in the Margo Jones Performance Hall on the Denton campus. The assembly will be streamed to Auditorium 2120 in Houston and room 2504 in Dallas, and also will be available for viewing online.

Receptions will precede the fall assembly at 8:30 a.m. on each campus — at Pioneer Circle in Denton and outside the streaming rooms in Houston and Dallas.

It’s also Maroon Monday at Fall Assembly in Denton. Faculty and staff are encouraged to wear maroon – you could even win a prize! If you wear maroon, you’ll receive a ticket at the doors to the auditorium and will be entered to win a $100 Pioneer Fan wear gift certificate sponsored by TWU Athletics. There will be one drawing for staff and one for faculty. Winners will be announced during the presentation.

Several activities are scheduled during Welcome Week, including the traditional Faculty Ice Cream Social, First-Year Convocation, Teaching and Learning Symposium, and more.

The Office of Marketing & Communication will host headshot sessions in the Eberly Recital Hall (Music 103): 

• 8-9:30 a.m. and 1-5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 21
• 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 22-23
