A generous gift from Sue S. Bancroft, former TWU Regent and Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s History (JNIWL) Advisory Council Member, to establish the Bancroft Oral History Project Fund will allow the JNIWL at Texas Woman’s University to curate a collection of oral histories.
This initiative allows the institute to curate and share the stories of remarkable women who have made an impact in their respective fields. Through recording these oral histories, the collection will ensure that the lives and legacies of these extraordinary women will be preserved to inspire generations to come.
Bancroft is the founding chair of the JNIWL’s advisory council and is a former TWU System Board of Regents Chairwoman. The Sue S. Bancroft Leadership Hall, the state’s only history museum dedicated to Texas women located inside the Old Main building, was named in her honor.
