Texas Woman’s University kicked off Welcome Week with a Fall Assembly that highlighted past accomplishments while looking toward the future.
“A Million Dreams” was the theme of this year’s assembly, and speakers celebrated the accomplishments of colleagues and friends and provided a sneak peek of what’s ahead in the new academic year.
Some speakers made note of the weather. Chancellor Carine Feyten gave a shout-out to the groundskeepers and custodians who are “keeping the campus beautiful despite this sweltering heat.” Sandee Mott, director of TWU Athletics, noted that fall sports will begin soon and “our soccer team has a million dreams for some cooler temperatures.”
Chad Smith, PhD (Communication Sciences) and Sharon Bailey (College of Professional Education), unveiled “Momentum – Strategic Plan 2028,” the work of more than 60 individuals from all three campuses.
The launching of the university’s first-ever capital campaign, enrollment, future construction, and much more information was presented to audiences in-person and online. The ceremony livestream is still available for those who missed it or would like to watch it again.
Welcome Week continues through Friday. See the full schedule of events.
