Some faculty in the School of Library and Information Studies have teamed with library staff members to start a new student journal, and they’re already taking submissions.
Carol Perryman (SLIS) had an idea to start a journal that could help students learn about the academic publication process. Perryman and her SLIS colleague Ahmet (Meti) Tmava worked with library staff members Adrian Shapiro and Woody Evans to create the “Texas Woman’s University Student Journal,” an open access academic journal for TWU student authors.
The inaugural issue is planned for spring/summer 2021, and scholarly works on any subject are welcome. Evans said they hope to take in paper versions of the posters that would have been shared in the 2020 Creative Arts and Research Symposium.
The submission deadline is Jan. 11, 2021.
