Deadlines extended for SECC donations

If you wanted to donate to the university’s State Employee Charitable Campaign but didn’t meet the deadline, don’t worry: There’s still time to “go for the gold!”

After learning that some employees had difficulties using the SECC online giving platform, SECC committee leaders decided to extend the deadline for the Bettye Myers Challenge to Friday, Nov. 5.

The late Dr. Bettye Myers, a longtime TWU faculty member, began the challenge to encourage SECC participation at the university. Today, the committee continues a form of the challenge in her memory. Academic components are eligible for a drawing to win a $1,000 student scholarship sponsored by the TWU Foundation. Non-academic components are eligible for a group pizza party sponsored by the Chancellor’s Office and Chartwells.

Donations to TWU’s SECC fundraiser can be accepted through Friday, Nov 12. Donations may be made via electronic or physical form. Visit the campaign’s “How to Give” web page for more information.
