The spring semester is almost over, but the Summer Core Assessment Academy will begin soon.
What does this mean?
When the Core Assessment Academy is in session, volunteers work collaboratively to evaluate the progress of Texas Woman’s undergraduate students enrolled in core courses. The State of Texas requires regular assessments of the core curriculum – the set of required classes that undergraduates must choose from, outside their majors and minors.
Rating is not the same as grading. Students don’t see the results and are not given feedback. The data are for aggregated, internal analysis only. Volunteers look at student work, decide on scores, talk about what they’re seeing, then some analyze the results later.
You can be a part of that.
In-person and virtual rating sessions will be available. If you choose to participate in an in-person session, lunch will be provided. Volunteers also will receive TWU swag and be entered into a raffle for fun prizes.
Volunteers must attend a norming session before the rating begins. Sign up for a norming session and one or more rating sessions by Tuesday, May 16. Contact Aimée Myers amyers8@twu.edu if you have questions.
