"Boo at the U" takes place Oct. 17

TWU's annual "Boo at the U" fall event is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Every fall, the event brings participants from the Denton community. The activities this year include a haunted maze, inflatables and rides, carnival games, trick-or-treating, and more.

TWU will also be collecting non-perishable food items for Minerva’s Market (see list of items needed here).

"Boo at the U" is a free community-wide event so TWU faculty, staff and students are encouraged to spread the word. In the event of inclement weather, it will be pushed back one week to Thursday, October 24.

TWU is also accepting candy donations, will be hosting a table-decorating contest, and is looking for volunteers to serve at the event. Complete information is below:

Candy Donations Needed
In previous years, the TWU community has supported the event by donating candy for the Trick-or-Treating area that provides thousands of pieces of candy to the community. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and donations can be dropped off at the information desk in the Student Union at Hubbard Hall. You can donate by calling the union office at 940-898-3641 and they will come and pick up your candy.

Trick or Treat Table and Table-Decorating Contest Sign Up is Now Open
TWU is looking to see each department's creativity and spooktacular spirit at your Boo at the U Trick or Treat Table. By signing up to host a trick or treating table, you will automatically be entered into the decorating contest. One department will win $100 credit to shop at the TWU Campus Store.

Volunteers Needed
TWU is seeking volunteers to help make the event a success. There are various ways to contribute, and those interested in volunteering can sign up here
