Texas Woman’s will honor faculty and staff for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the university during the 2023 Faculty and Staff Awards ceremony at 3 p.m., Thursday, April 20, in the Dr. Phyllis J. Bridges Auditorium of the Student Union at Hubbard Hall (SUHH). The ceremony also will be broadcast via livestream.

Faculty Awards
- Distinction in Teaching — Tina Gumienny, PhD, associate professor, Biology
- Distinction in Distance Education — Deepani Tennakoon, PhD, lecturer I, Biology
- Distinction in Scholarship (two awards) — Christopher Brower, PhD, associate professor, Biology, and Derek Miketinas, PhD, assistant professor, Nutrition & Food Sciences
- Distinction in Service — DiAnna Hynds, PhD, professor, Biology
- Innovation in Academia — Juliet Spencer, PhD, director, School of the Sciences and professor, Biology
- Humphries Award — Nathaniel C. Mills, PhD, professor, Biology
- Mary Mason Lyon Award for Distinguished Junior Faculty (two awards) — Carter Biggers, DMA, director of bands and associate professor, Music, and Jayne Jennings Dunlap, DNP, assistant clinical professor, Nursing
- Cornaro Award — Jyutika Mehta, PhD, professor, Communication Sciences; director, TWU Stroke Center-Dallas
