Woo receives K23 NIH grant

Jennifer Woo (Nursing, Dallas) received almost $393,000 in funding for a K23 NIH grant from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities of the National Institutes of Health for a project, “Genomic signatures of inflammation: Pathways of racial discrimination, depressive symptoms, Vitamin D status with preterm birth among Black women.”

The $392,793, three-year grant began May 14. Juliet Spencer (Biology, Denton), is a secondary mentor on the project.
