It hasn’t officially opened yet, but the test kitchen in the Health Sciences Center already has a new name: The Neva Hudiburgh Cochran Wellness Kitchen. Cochran, a longtime registered dietitian, earned an MS in Nutrition from TWU and has supported an endowed scholarship and nutrition activities at the university.
For decades, she has partnered with food, nutrition and agricultural organizations to promote science-based food and nutrition information. The wellness kitchen, slated to be dedicated Feb. 12, will be used for community workshops, interprofessional education, dietetics courses and an array of other nutrition-oriented activities.
