TWU alumni, faculty included in blog's Women's History Month feature

The Denton County Office of History and Culture celebrated Women’s History Month by focusing on “ladies who have made great bounds in education, medicine, the arts, journalism and much more.” Some of the women featured have a connection to Texas Woman’s University.

A March 10 blog post featured alumni Millie Hughes-Fulford, the first female civilian scientist in space, and Caro Crawford Brown, the first woman to receive a Pulitzer Prize for local reporting. On March 12, alumna Louise Ritter was in the spotlight. After winning multiple track and field championships as a TWU student, Ritter went on to win Olympic gold in 1988.

The final Women’s History Month feature focused on Pauline Beery Mack, a TWU professor whose studies of bone density provided NASA with invaluable information for manned spaceflight.
