David Sweeten (Student Union & Conference Services, Denton) recently graduated from Leadership Denton as part of the 37th class. A Denton Chamber of Commerce program, Leadership Denton offers a learning experience for established and emerging leaders who live or work in the Denton area.
This year’s 10-month program offered sessions about state and local government, non-profits, health and wellness, economic development, education, and arts. The program also is designed to help participants develop an understanding of the opportunities and challenges in the local community.
Each year, the Leadership Denton class is given a project. This year’s group was tasked with creating a diversity, equity, and inclusion training program for business owners and employees. Jason Lambert (College of Business, Denton) served as an advisor for the class.
The 2021-2022 Leadership Denton class was led by program chair Jen Peace, a 2004 Texas Woman’s graduate.
