Spencer earns AJN Book of the Year Award

Becky Spencer, PhD (nursing) took home the American Journal of Nursing (AJN) Book of the Year Award for 2023 in the category of maternal child/neonatal nursing. 

Spencer was the first-place winner for her interprofessional textbook titled "Core Curriculum for Interdisciplinary Lactation Care, 2nd ed." Edited by Spencer along with Suzanne Hetzel Campbell, and Kristina Chamberlain, the comprehensive text targets the entire health care team in supporting breastfeeding families and promoting human milk feeding. The winner was selected by Kathleen Rice Simpson, PhD.

Spencer is an associate clinical professor at the TWU Dallas campus, primarily teaching the doctoral and master's programs with areas of expertise in breastfeeding, maternal child health care and health disparities.
