Jorge Figueroa Flores has been named the university’s vice provost for curriculum and strategic initiatives, effective March 1.
“This new title and realignment of responsibilities reflects the importance of efficiencies in curricular processes and building innovative, sustainable and strategic pathways for students,” said Carolyn Kapinus, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost.
In his new role, Figueroa Flores will provide leadership for undergraduate education, curriculum development, core curriculum, dual credit, partnerships, transfer agreements, and scheduling.
Figueroa Flores joined Texas Woman’s in 2018 as a visiting associate professor of Bilingual and ESL Education. He became an associate professor the following year, and was named associate dean of research, inclusion and innovation in the College of Professional Education in 2021. As associate dean, he was responsible for COPE’s international education partnerships, COPE’s Emerging Leaders Program, and all research, inclusion and innovation activity in the college.
