Cruz receives Helen Roehlke Award

Carmen Cruz, PsyD, (Counseling & Psychological Services) recently received the 2022 Helen Roehlke Award, the highest honor given by the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies (ACCTA)

ACCTA is an organization of 180+ members representing doctoral internship programs in psychology at University Counseling Centers across the country. The Helen Roehlke Award is the only outstanding service award offered by ACCTA, and honors a member who displays unwavering enthusiasm, commitment, support and overall service to the organization. The award is given to only one recipient each year.

Cruz was recognized for her incomparable service to ACCTA and the field of psychology training, according to Cecilia Sun, PhD, ACCTA past president. Cruz provided multicultural supervision workshops to 22 different counseling centers across the country, was instrumental in field-wide initiatives such as developing the CCTC Social Responsiveness in Health Service Psychology Education and Training Toolkit, and has served on numerous boards and committees for ACCTA.
