Sandra Cesario (Nursing, Houston), president of AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses), led a delegation of 22 members of the organization — including Nursing colleagues Kathleen Ellis and Tracy McManaman-Bridges (both Houston) — to Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dec. 3-12. Some in the group took an extended visit to Muscat Oman.

The high-level, in-depth international exchange fostered one-on-one dialogue with UAE nursing counterparts on topics related to the health of women and newborns. The trip included visits to the Ministry of Health, Mohammed Bin Rashid University, Abdulla Bin Omran Hospital in Ras Al Kaimah, Al Qassimi Woman and Children Hospital in Sharjah, as well as many historical and cultural sites.
